Stimmt Ralf, das war auch mein Gedanke!Danke für die Auflistung.
Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass mehr 9000 als 9-5 gebaut worden sind.
Saab classic 900 production figures
August 12, 2007
Being the month of classic 900 love, there’s a number of 900 owners checking in to see who’s got what and what the story is. One of the things I like to do during these various months of loving is spell out the production numbers as best I can. If you’ve got a 900 you can see if yours is one of the rarer years, and how many were made where yours was made.
So here we go. Production numbers were as follows:
1978 – 17,244
1979 – 52,478
1980 – 48,646
1981 – 53,011
1982 – 63,551
1983 – 78,825
1984 – 88,188
1985 – 86,707
1986 – 85,675
1987 – 83,163
1988 – 68,363
1989 – 54,035
1990 – 41,708
1991 – 34,833
1992 – 38,663
1993 – 33,577
Unfortunately the source I’m using doesn’t differentiate between hardtops and convertibles in those annual figures. I’d also have to assume that the 1994 convertibles were all manufactured in 1993.
It does, however, cover the various venues where they were made:
Trollhattan
– 219,940 3-door models
– 123,518 4-door models
– 85,255 5-door models
– 428,713 in total
Nystad
– 48,894 Convertibles
– 37,795 2-door models
– 66,754 3-door models
– 58,408 4-door models
– 75,947 5-door models
– 287,798 in total
Arlov
– 57,259 3-door models
– 83,770 4-door models
– 31,502 5-door models
– 172,531 in total
Malmo
– 13,946 3-door models
– 5,484 4-door models
– 338 5-door models
– 19,768 in total
I’ve only got annualised Saab 9000 production figures up until 1996, but as they were only made for two years after that we can include 1997 and 98 together and it won’t be so exaggerated.
The vast majority of pre-97 Saab 9000s were produced in Trollhattan. There were a handful (30) produced at Malmo and 8,269 produced at Nystad. In total, there were 503,087 units of the Saab 9000.
According to my production figures, the 9000CC was the most common version built. There were 216,385 units of the 9000CC produced between 1984 and 1996. I’m pretty sure the source I’m using counts all the first generation Saab 9000s as a CC model in these statistics.
The 9000CD sedan saw 110,617 units produced and the 9000CS hatchback (incl the Aero) saw 149,344 units produced between 1984 and 1996.
Annual production is as follows:
1984 – 470 units
1985 – 13,721 units
1986 – 34,816 units
1987 – 49,081 units
1988 – 52,199 units
1989 – 49,556 units
1990 – 45,648 units*
1991 – 45,533 units*
1992 – 45,906 units*
1993 – 37,384 units*
1994 – 32,196 units
1995 – 36,844 units
1996 – 32,992 units
1997 and 1998 – 26,741 units
* – In these years there were actually more Saab 9000s produced than Saab 900s and total Saab production for those years never got above 90,000 units.
