Another thing that is planned is that we should do a time attack tests on the Nurburgring in 2012 (if the track is left?) otherwise it will be an attempt at the track Spa. And it is to show the world that a Saab could be really fast

yes that's the idea that it ultimately will give to bake some money. What more is that the possibility is of course to you as a sponsor to borrow the car to attract more people to your company.

Hello The idea is that the car will be ready in late April. Because then it's a big motor show. And I hope to exhibit the car there. After that it gets to run 6x races during the summer. Here in Sweden. It is to test and feel how the car feels. What we need right now is the most money. When the building operated by private funds and smaller contributions from business.

I started tonight with the fix to a control box with various switches to the new Fan, P-light, instrument lighting, etc. etc. http://i52.tinypic.com/11ipcm1.jpg Switch with light green for On and Off the Red http://i53.tinypic.com/2nbf5ft.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/v7bbex.jpg Should print out small stickers so you know which breaker that goes to what.

Today I added a bit of time to complete the oil sump. Was quite difficult to remove all the old burnt oil, but think it was good to finish. http://i56.tinypic.com/2hdp7iw.jpg The inside of the pan with baffles and oil pickup When I got home it was just getting into the car and go to the post office and pick up a nice package. http://i52.tinypic.com/2ywfuki.jpg

Began work on some stuff in the cabin on Saturday. Took some pictures with Nikon that went with us to the garage, as a little supplement to the former. http://i56.tinypic.com/x6mn1y.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/fa7ivb.jpg http://i56.tinypic.com/1f7ds8.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/oarjbn.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/33ubbkl.jpg The next step is to draw the brake lines and start a little bit with the new electrical system.

The Civinco stand alone engine management we are going to use are now finally home :D http://i54.tinypic.com/29ohf2a.jpg Big thanks to Civinco and BA Ost & Chark- Saab 9-5 SRD Racing (Schweden)
We have now decided, again, to build at budget engine for this season. Simply because lack of money. So ve return to the original plan to use T7 rods and T5 pistons. Meanwhile, or when we get enough money, we plan building a second engine, based on the B206 block from 900i -94. This will be a "full race" spec engine. So we now started to modify the T7 rods http://i53.tinypic.com/htutyp.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/119z5tf.jpg SRD Racing modified rod VS original T7 one- Saab 9-5 SRD Racing (Schweden)

Have now got the engine block painted. It got four layers of white paint and two layers of clear, so I hope it will be easy to keep clean. Chosing white makes it easier to spot any leaks that may occur. http://i53.tinypic.com/d60cl.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/qoa80h.jpg Could look really good once the valve cover has been painted white, too. More good news from this week: http://i51.tinypic.com/2lcmo34.jpg Stefan shotblasted the intake The engine is now totally dismantled. Jimmy will clean everything next week, once the head work is finished. Engine turned out to be in really good condition. After almost 200 000 miles, the only real wear we found was on the main bearing on #3. Saturday continued with Stefan scraping off the sound deadening left inside the car, then the brackets for the seat belts were welded in. Finally, the engine compartment was painted white. Feels nice, after doing odds and ends all weekend, to do something that really can be seen. http://i55.tinypic.com/pbzhk.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/4gnnso.jpg http://i51.tinypic.com/b7ctv6.jpg Not the best pics, forgot the Nikon at home and the compact doesn´t really meet the same standards David Couldn´t hold myself from trial-fitting the front fenders once the engine compartment was painted http://i53.tinypic.com/wksisn.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/4fjnm.jpg- Saab 9-5 SRD Racing (Schweden)
Today, work on the cylinder head began. The old head had cracked, so it´s been substituted for T5 atmohead. We believe that will provide us extra power, once the SRD-mods have been performed :loco: . I started by dismantling it. Then it was soaked in a degreasing-bath. A little bit of manual scrubbing after that made it all nice and shiny. Here it is in the bath http://www.geting.se/image.php/281200-163221_486168431731_310392731731_6209304_6874189_n.jpg Nice and shiny http://www.geting.se/image.php/281201-163118_486221661731_310392731731_6209929_2483451_n.jpg Porting work has begun. Will add a few hours of work tomorrow and hopefully finish it. Today there was further progress. Nice to know that people are following the project. I´m working on strengthening the strut towers. The strut tower bar will be a home-fabrication, angled towards the a-posts and the scuttle panel. The reason it´s angled pointing rearwards, is that the space between the strut towers will be occupied by the intake manifold, once the race-spec engine is built. Better do it right first time.. :) http://www.geting.se/image.php/273778-DSC00304.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/273779-DSC00309.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/273780-DSC00312.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/273781-DSC00313.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/273782-DSC00314.jpg This Saturday me and David worked hard. All welding inside the car got finished and David got the engine and gearbox out. After that, we continued with reinforcing the front strut towers. So, after a 12-hour nightshift in the garage, we were really pleased with what we´ve acheived. Take a look for yourselves! http://www.geting.se/image.php/274100-63396_467251106731_310392731731_5893723_6889541_n.jpg Original strut tower http://www.geting.se/image.php/274102-69506_467251136731_310392731731_5893724_4177518_n.jpg SRD Racing strut tower http://www.geting.se/image.php/274104-63453_467251726731_310392731731_5893727_5012762_n.jpg Hope this will help preventing bodyroll Last night, me and David get a bit more done on our racecar. Now it´s down to maybe four more hours of welding, before all the welding is done. Feels great to be "almost there". I'll post some pictures of what we've done lately. Don´t hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the car. http://www.geting.se/image.php/275278-69759_470710356731_310392731731_5942347_1917254_n.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/275279-154366_469502611731_310392731731_5924192_7970330_n.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/275280-162819_470711656731_310392731731_5942352_6530589_n.jpg Some pictures of the last few days job. Yesterday went really well in the garage. http://www.geting.se/image.php/270915-75365_455928316731_310392731731_5735188_5082089_n.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/270916-74567_455928286731_310392731731_5735187_1020014_n.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/270917-76009_455928256731_310392731731_5735186_8128470_n.jpg The rear end of the car is now ready. Hours and hours went in over the weekend, but it paid off. The rear end can now be lowered. That will cure the oversteering, which haunted us last season. The gap between the wheel wells is for the fuel cell. http://www.geting.se/image.php/271045-76113_456226211731_310392731731_5738969_4122390_n.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/271046-73025_456226566731_310392731731_5738985_528792_n.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/271047-73462_456226641731_310392731731_5738988_6979732_n.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/271048-76287_456228606731_310392731731_5739044_5240461_n.jpg Wheelwells painted. Here are some pictures showing what will happen to the rear end set-up. The wishbones need more clearance if we are to lower the car further, hence the surgery. http://www.geting.se/image.php/269538-76141_451871321731_310392731731_5685995_1295384_n.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/269539-76676_451872321731_310392731731_5686005_432515_n.jpg http://www.geting.se/image.php/269540-76730_451872131731_310392731731_5685999_4830868_n.jpg OK, time to start the long road back to a working rear-end set-up.
