Hello from Sydney Australia,

I was pointed towards these forums after posting some messages in other forum sites in regard to a very rare Heuschmid 4-door Saab C900 body kit I acquired recently from an Australian Ebay seller who apparently used to fit them to Saab's in the mid to late 1980's...

To get some background, you can read a couple of the postings in threads here and (more recently) here (those threads are in the web forums at my classic Saab website), and also in this saablink.net thread and this thread at saabscene.com.

Basically, I've got a complete set of unpainted moulded parts, but I don't have any documentation or any idea what hardware is supposed to have come with the kit. There was a small bag of hardware supplied but it doesn't have much and I'm sure there are a lot of items missing. Things like normal fasteners are no trouble since I can get stainless steel nuts and bolts from lots of places but any specialised pieces might need to be custom-made.

Does anyone have documentation for the kit, preferably with an English language version? If I can locate documentation I'm willing to get it scanned and put online somewhere for reference. Also I need to work out what hardware the kit's meant to have, but the documentation probably covers all that.

If you can provide some help with this I'd be very appreciative so I can get all the documentation and parts before looking at starting to fit the kit onto a target car.

Regards,

Craig.

Hi Craig,

Greetings to "Down under"! Do you have the opportunity to post some pictures from the backside of the skirts and the hardware? Maybe also a picture of the complete body kit.

Did you already tried to contact Heuschmid?
Must be available on www.heuschmid.de

I have taken some pictures today actually which I'll be putting online somewhere in the next couple of days. I have been to the Heuschmid site but haven't tried contacting them as yet - that's the next step once I have pics online.

There is no "them" at Heuschmid's :D . . . If you're lucky, you'll get to talk to Johann HS himself, and he may be willing to talk a lot but dont try to ask him out about engine details (although thats not what you're asking for, just a little warning)!
I'm sorry but your own forum doesnt seem available to me. While I'd be pretty keen about the Discussion about those parts, and about the Images too!

btw the green 900 in the Auction looks absolutely hilarious with the Kit, Inkas and old Turbo-Grille!! And 264 Aussie-$ aint that much, are they?

Gives a nice idea about how the kit may look like.

:( Yes I have to fix the web server that my forum run on so that the PHP installation works properly in different languages. I think the problem is something to do with the lack of the php gettext() function in the pre-compiled php package I installed on the Cobalt server.

Thanks for the heads-up regarding contacting Heuschmid. I didn't think it was just one person but then again it's a very specialised area so being a one-person operation (a bit like KevinY from Yankton Tuned!) makes sense.

He he yeah that is an unusual looking car. The pic is not recent though. One of our club's members has a lime-green early-year C900 - have a look at the image galleries and check out Bruce Cook's pics.

Regards,

Craig.
