I thought I'd just share with you boys some of the latest pictures of my T8 after its been cleaned..

most of the cleaned parts you can't see everyday when the bonnet & doors are closed.

but it makes it a pleasure to work on,every thing is clean & shiny spot the 2 or 3 dirty bits...

Hi Paul,

i did the same last weekend. I just drove out of the car-wash when is started to rain. :asdf  Back home, i decided to wash the car again and after a beer or two in my garage, it was clear the it needs some polish.

Well, it was as fast polish-work and will be repeated with a machine within the next two weeks, but it looks better now.

How do get the enginebay that clean?

Best regards,

your pics must be a fake: sunny weather in UK ? no rain ?

enjoy the clean car

Hi Paul,

Hi Kevin,

a lot of time thats all, plus first off I used "truckwash" spray it on then leave for about 15 minutes..then use a 1"/25mm paint brush to scrub all the parts..

once these parts are dry I used "T-Cut" also "Topcut" to restore the paint work..then I used Autoglym Super Resin Polish just to finish it off.

All it needs now is a quick clean about once a month..

hb-ex, no fake pictures here its always warm & sunny in the UK

Paul

paul, sorry for my comment: yes I remember quiete sunny days in the UK, but normaly the weather is more wet, than in Germany.

enjoy the warm weather.

hmmm, i just see a rusty bonnet :):)

j/k

looks really good!! liked the polished valve cover, cold air intake and the rims!!

nah, "always warm & sunny", always warm and sunny as my picture of british humour, that is. . !

I can understand that Londoners never leav home without an umbrella. . . but it dries up pretty fast, too!

You know, some guys in Hamburg say, "only a dirty Saab is a good one", bzt they have the really bad weather on the continent.

I usually wash the car "by natural call", i. e. every time a bird throws excrements at it.

If I had a white one, I would of course stick to the usual German rhythm of "Saturday - Car Wash Day!"

Especially when considering the colour yours looks extremely nice like that! And the "Sound Cover" in the bonnett looks as new, an extremely rare appearence above the 8-V, by my experiences.

Ah, Yeah and Congrats on the chrome door levers and Inka Wheels, those are just whoooosh!

Here in Hamburg we say: "Yes sir, Hamburg is a great city, but you should put a roof over it!"

By the way: Paul, your 8V looks great! The old Swede found a good home.

But you should take care of your bonnet! You will have holes in it soon.

I have changed mine a few weeks ago. It does not fit proper to the car.

The gaps are bigger than usual, but it ist nearly free of corrosion and i preserved it with AV30. We use this on our aircrafts. if will still protect any surfaces after ten years!

thanks for your good comments boys...

as for the bonnet thats the worst part of the car I'm looking for a good one at the moment in Cirrus White..

the bonnet was like that when I got the car back in 2003.....

I will find one soon I hope....

as for the weather yes its a British sence of humour at the weekend it was lovely sunny & dry, then on Tuesday it rained all day

so as my T8 is Cirrus White it stays clean for about 2 days then looks dirty...

I normally wash it every weekend.....

Paul

I normally wash it every weekend.....

...I thought that your wife and kids do the cleaning wile you are out drinking a nice cold lager and watching football!..... :drink

@pda: Nice white one :-) While looking for a new bonnet you could spend a saturday afternoon with waxoyling the rest of the car. Highly recommended !

If you don't know where to spay: Look here in the forum for "spritzplan" -> you'll find a link to a 4MB pdf-Document.
