what is the rule for boost to bhp/torque

 

ie if I up the boost by 1psi then what BHP/Torque will I get

is 1psi worth 5bhp & 10ft/lb or is it more/less...

 

if I'm running 0.7bar stock boost then up it to 1.1bar what increase in total bhp/torque would I get

Das Verhältnis zwischen Ladedruck und kw ist nicht linear zu errechnen, da es von der Drehzahl des Motors abhängt. Von daher lässt sich keine eindeutige Kurve erstellen. Anders verhält es sich mit der Verhältnismäßigkeit von Ladedruck und Nm, jedoch nur für die jeweiligen Parameter eines Fahrzeugs. Als Beispiel (meines Wagens vor etwa 2 Jahren gemessen)

 

Meßpunkt jeweils genau 3.500 U/min auf 4.500 U/min. steigend, GLD auf 0.6 bar:

 

mit abgezogenem APC-Stecker 0.6 bar konstant auf 206 Nm

0.7 auf 257 Nm

0.8 auf 288 Nm

0.9 auf 325 Nm

1.0 auf 342 Nm

1.1 auf 350 Nm

1.2 auf 361 Nm

1.3 auf 372 Nm

1.4 auf 379 Nm

1.5 (fallend auf 1.4) 384 Nm (max. Schubspitze)

The relationship between boost and kilowatts cannot be expressed as a linear function, because it is dependent on engine speed. So it is impossible to come up with one definitive graph. This is different from the relationship between boost and torque (Nm), but even this can only be determined for the parameters of one particular car. Here's how it was on my car (measured about 2 years ago):

 

Measurements taken at precisely 3,500 rpm, rising to precisely 4,500 rpm. Base bost was 0.6 bar:

 

With APC selenoid disconnected, 0.6 bar yielded 206 Nm

0.7 bar yielded 257 Nm

0.8 bar yielded 288 Nm

0.9 bar yielded 325 Nm

1.0 bar yielded 342 Nm

1.1 bar yielded 250 Nm

1.2 bar yielded 361 Nm

1.3 bar yielded 372 Nm

1.5 bar (falling toward 1.4) yielded 384 Nm (max. torque)

I've also read that 1psi =5bhp & 0.1bar=10bhp approx

 

so increase the base boost by 5psi = 25bhp or 0.3bar=30bhp

 

as for ft/lb or Nm by increasing the baseboost by 5psi or 0.3bar I will gain approx 40ft/lb or 54Nm

 

I think that sounds right !!
